Happy Summer!

Here is hoping that everyone is having a fantastic summer.  As promised there are several items posted on the student's corner and there are lots of links for games to play to keep your skills sharp over the summer.

A big thanks to all of those who have taken the time to connect with me over the summer either through e-mail or by sharing documents on Google Docs.  It is great to know that you have not forgotten me just yet.

Enjoy what is left of your summer.....and hopefully we will see each other in the fall.

Happy Summer!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back everyone!  I hope everyone had a great break and I am looking forward to seeing everyone when we get together during class.  We have lots of new information to learn about in all subjects so I hope everyone is ready to learn!

I have added a new page to our blog for Social Studies.  If you click on the link at the top of this page you will find additional resources that will help you to learn about Canada's First Nations and early explorers.  We will be using these resources as part of our learning adventure.

I have marked everyone's letters that were written before Christmas and I am looking forward to reviewing them with you.  We will have lots of opportunities to practice letter writing throughout the year as our T.W.A.S. is written in a letter format.  Don't forget to get your parents to write back to you!

See you Monday!

Hello Class!

Congratulations to all the Grade 5's who studied for their Science test and got an A- or better!  Spectacular!

This is a quick reminder to make sure you wear appropriate clothing now that it is getting colder.  We are in a portable and with the door constantly opening and closing it is hard to maintain a constant bring a sweater!

Reminders:   Day 1 is Gym Day and Day 4 is Library Day.
Wednesdays are Pizza Days and Litter free lunch days!

Science Test Reminder!

Our grade 5 students have been working hard on their science unit and are preparing for their test on Monday, December 5th.  This will be the first of two tests that will be administered this week.  Students have reviewed and studied with friends, taken a practice test and are well on their way to successfully completing this unit within the next week.

Once the science unit is finished we will begin to explore Social Studies......First Nations and European Explorer in New France. Students have had a short introduction to this unit a couple of weeks ago with a viewing of the first episode of "Canada - A People's History".  We will delve deeper into this subject over the coming weeks with both in class activities and some independent research.

Don't forget to check out the Literacy and Math pages for more information on those subjects.

Welcome Class of  2016!

This is the first time that you have been on this here is what I need you to do.  Check out the links on the right side of the page.  This is where I will post links to games that will help you increase your skill level on tasks that we are working on in class.  Right now we have been working on patterning in you can click on the link at the bottom of the list that is titled 'Pattern Games' and check out some of the information and games that you can do on that site.  When you are done, check out Hooda Math for more games.

I plan to try to keep this site up-to-date with messages for you.  I might even check to see who is reading the webpage each night!  I will be looking for more games and lessons that we can do right on this when we eventually have a chance to use the chrome books or this computer lab we will have something interesting to do!

I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to everyone for their co-operation (or 'Cooperation' if your name is Cooper) I know that being out of our portable is a bit of a hassle and you are all doing very well with the changes.  Hopefully the portable will be fixed today.
